About This Book

Piedad Pareja, historian and professor of the PUCP, presents a research work on two emblematic houses: Casa del Castillo (18th century) and Casa Muga (19th century), with emphasis on "putting into value, the origin of the owners, their family and business relationships as well as their presence as authorities". These buildings were restructured for the cultural richness that represent, since they summarize the social and culture history of Lamayeque, as they reveal the uses and customs, that with time and urban growth, as well as economic development and the evolution of society, have been disappearing. A series of historical milestones that are intertwined with the local history of Lambayeque, as well as peculiarities of the 19th century village are also addressed.
