Waiting for the hangman

When Buck Armstrong agrees to take on the job of protecting a friend's friend, he has to accompany Vanessa Grange who is riding on the stagecoach to visit her Uncle Clarence. Unfortunately, however, he's in jail awaiting the hangman and must pay the price for his involvement with the Henry Plummer gang. Before that happens he wants Buck to help the girl find Plummer's hidden stash of stolen gold. But there are others around who also want the gold.
