Wivi Lönn represents a gifted generation of young architects who reinvented architectural design around the turn of the century. Spanning from the late 1800s to the 1940s, Lönn's career is unparalleled in the history of world architecture, covering a vast spectrum of projects from cultural monuments to summer villas around Europe. Lönn was Finland's first woman architect to own her own practice. Marking the 150th anniversary of Wivi Lönn's birth, this publication is the first in-depth study of Lönn's accomplishments in the field of architecture, covering her residential projects, schools she designed, as well as her extensive travels.
