Castle Heights Military Academy closed in 1986 after more than 80 years of graduating youth who would become teachers, physicians, blue-collars workers, engineers, military officers, professors, attorneys, government officials, journalists, business executives, community leaders ... For 45 of those years, JB Leftwich taught and mentored cadets, helped shape and save the Academy, and was among the extraordinary administrators and faculty that made the school a truly great private educational institution.
