"Spearheaded by its leaders, the Magisters, the Age of Gaia has been proclaimed. Gaia, a new religion, originally devoted to preserving the Earth, has been perverted by a malevolent and devious regime. A power structure under strict control has been constructed so that nothing, not even the weather, has a will of its own.

Global warming and climate change have been rife for decades, but now climates are being manipulated by nuclear-powered wind machines. The ozone layer is all but lost, causing sun-poisoning among a war-ravaged population, forced to live outside the protective shield of the Gaia-Domes.

September, a woman of intellect and physical prowess, becomes a leader of a rebellion. After her husband who masterminded all of Gaia's scientific and technological achievements was executed for treason, September seeks a way out to a brighter future."
