About This Book

The exhibition presented the selected works from the collection of the famous Polish collector, antiquarian and historian of art Tadeusz Wierzejski (1892-1974). From the first of his gift to the City Museum of Bydgoszcz in 1923 to the famous legacy to the Royal Castle in Warsaw in 1974 Tadeusz Wierzejski has enriched the numerous collections of Polish museums and libraries. The catalogue presents Far Eastern art, European painting (Flemish and Dutch, French, German, Russian and Polish), drawings and graphics, glass and porcelain, furniture as well as incunabula and old prints. The works come from the following museums: University Library of Warsaw, Upper Silesian Museum at Bytom, Muzeum Lazienki Krolewskie Warsaw, City Museum in Wroclaw, National Museum Poznan, National Museum Warsaw, National Museum Wroclaw, Castle Museum Malbork, Royal Castle Warsaw, Wawel Royal Castle Museum Krakow and others.
