About This Book

I have a copy of this as my father is Arnold Satterthwait. This is a paper-covered pamphlet which includes pictures, trial excerpts and statements of the 2 young Quaker men convicted for failure to register for military service under the Selective Service Act of 1941. I believe that they were the 1st two individuals sentenced to federal prison at this time. There is no author credited on the pamphlet itself but there is a statement saying it was published by the 4 parents of the men. At this time I have no reason to believe is was not written by Charles, the brother of Arnold.
