Contains pamphlets on all aspects of Afro-American life in the United States, primarily from the second half of the 19th century. Collected by Daniel Alexander Payne Murray, an employee of the Library of Congress from 1871 to 1923. Among the authors represented are Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington, Ida B. Wells-Barnett, Benjamin W. Arnett, and Alexander Crummell.
