For the sake of a balanced presentation of scholastic theology, the bulk of this volume is occupied by works of Anselm of Canterbury and theologians of the twelfth century, while the later authors represented come from outside the Thomist tradition. Within these limits, I have attempted to illustrate the principal interests of the great scholastic theologians. - p. 13.
