The book tells the story of the imperial neighborhood contemplating the main events that acted in the urban and economic transformation of the region. With graphic and fine art editing, it brings the history of the occupation of this site that accompanied the political, economic and social history of the city of Rio de Janeiro, as well as that of the country. The colonization of the city, the coming of the Portuguese royal family, the Empire, the Republic, the changes of the capital and the urban plans elaborated were facts that directly influenced the formation and development of the city and Brazil.
