Futuro presente

In July 2018, the Department of Art of the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella offered their second Jornadas de Arte y Estética "Inminencias. El arte frente a la crisis ecológica y la duplicación digital del mundo" (Imminence. Art in the face of the ecological crisis and digital duplication of the world), planned by Graciela Speranza and Ines Katzenstein. The international symposium brought together an extraordinary group of thinkers, writers and artists who for two days lectured in full auditoriums. This time, urgent aspects of the global situation were highlighted: on the one hand, the ecological crisis that threatens the world, and on the other hand, the progressive instrumentalization of network technologies and the computerization of subjectivities in favor of systems of marketing, surveillance and control.
