The amount of information that Information Systems manipulate is always increasing. The integration of temporal features into databases is a highly desirable capability for the required maintenance of the information. Temporal Database Management Systems acquire the adequate mechanisms for efficient handling of temporal information. The aim of this dissertation is to provide a decision algorithm, in order to visualise data using the most appropriate visualisation method. Based on the relative projects ‘ORES’ and ‘EuOrasis’, the analysis of this algorithm, the matching between a query type and one or more visualisation methods, the manipulation of complex queries, the design, implementation, and evaluation of the Visualisation System are the areas that this dissertation elucidates.
