Broad historical analysis of rising influence of "students" as political and social force based on study of uprisings and social struggles from time of Mexican revolution to present. Divided into three sections: first covers criteria for studying student movements, second contains papers on movements in Mexico and Argentina between 1916 and 1977, and third presents papers on last 30 years of student resistance and demonstrations in Mexico, Brazil and Spain.
