About This Book

"When the Tsodilo Hills were declared a World Heritage Site, the Botswana Government commissioned a management plan to ensure the integrity and protection of the area. It is the intention of government to begin implementation of this plan in 2012. Part of the plan will be to change the existing campsites into picnic sites and to move camping facilities outside of the core area and closer to the village. Camping and entrance fees will be introduced and it will be required to have an authorized guide, at a fee, to accompany anyone going into the core area. Other regulations will be introduced, but at this time it is not clear as to what they are or when they will be in effect. When these new regulationos and fee structures are officially introduced, this information will be incorporated into the next edition of the guide"
