About This Book
The book is a historical biography of an Irish hero much loved in Ireland. He was born in 1660 and died in 1693. He fought in the army of king James 11 in Ireland at the battle of the Boyne 1690 and at Aughrim and Limerick. These battles ended the reign of James 11 who was replaced by William of Orange. The departure of the Irish soldiers to the continent is called the Flight of the Wild Geese. Sarsfield died on the continent 1693.
