The maintenance and transmission of ethnic identity

This work focuses on how four religiously observant ethnic groups - namely, the Ashkenazim, Sephardim, veteran Ethiopians, and recently arrived Ethiopians - express their identity in the new environment, and maintain their boundaries from other jewish groups. the principal concern of this study is the relationship between religion and ethnicity.
