In the modernized 18th century world not only the impoverishment of man based on the absolutism of rationality was discovered but also the dimension of human dreams, phantasies, imaginations. It became evident that the rational normative systems of modernioty expressed the limits of human existence in a mathematics of desire, but they also showed the danger of the mechanisms to reduce human wholeness.
