Cratino il Giovane e Ofelione poeti della commedia di mezzo

A collection of the surviving fragments of the comic poets Cratinus the Younger and Ophelion, along with commentary that examines the place of these two poets in Middle Comedy, looking at how the themes of the two poets' works -- mythological parody, stock characters, Egyptian gods, and caricatures of philosophers -- fit into their political and cultural context. The appendix discusses the fragments of Cratinus the Younger that are to be found in the unpublished Fragmenta Poetarum Graecorum of Dirk Canter.
