Faced with an increasing number of transnational crimes the EU has introduced the new European Investigation Order (EIO). Succeeding the EAW the EIO is also based on mutual recognition presupposing mutual trust and common legal standards. The author provides a manual for Mutual Legal Assistance and develops a suspension procedure according to a comparison with CJEU case law to Dublin II Regulation. Furthermore general questions about the improvement of transnational cooperation are answered by using findings of sociology und studies of NGOs.--
