About This Book

American Political Development (APD) is a program at the Miller Center for Public Affairs of the University of Virginia whose mission is to foster research in political history that enlarges and informs contemporary debates in public policy. The "electronic classroom" offers various web-based resources for teachers including primary resources and syllabi of scholars who have taught APD related courses which are organized by topic such as civil rights or The Great Society. The "town square" section includes reviews and newly published articles and book excerpts plus journal links.
