The book touches upon the nascent state of Indian building industry in 1984 vis-a vis the dwindling state of the industry in Denmark then. It attempts to change the notion primarily held in India (for lack of experimentation) that industialised building techniques produce repetitive, sterile and uninteresting architecture by citing examples of illustrious pre-fabricated projects in Denmark.
The book provides basic information on housing finance systems in Denmark of 1984; how state’s efforts (financial facilitation) and individuals’ savings (financial participation) can work together in making a house an attainable proposition at societal grass roots.
