Caracterización técnica de la escultura policromada en la Nueva Granada

The book accounts for the techniques of support and polychrome of sculpture in New Granada of the 19th century. The research includes historical aspects of the sculpture and the role of the artist of the time, as well as the materials with which the colonial territory of Nueva Granada had. Emphasis is placed on indigenous contributions and then on the technical variables that differentiate this sculpture from that of other territories. The document is based on the research and processing of primary and secondary bibliographic references, as well as the study of 172 restored sculptures at the Faculty of Cultural Heritage Studies and the National Restoration Center, with scientific analysis and x-rays; the direct study of the selected sculptures form the technical catalogue of this research.
