SCORe '96

With the recent establishment of the GONG network of helioseismic observatories and the launch of the SOHO solar observatory, 1996 was an ideal time to organise a workshop on the relationship between solar oscillations and convection.

The reviews in these proceedings provide overviews of the current status of studies of solar and stellar structure and the radiative magnetohydrodynamics of solar convection, presenting and incorporating the newest results from numerical hydrodynamic simulations and helioseismic observations. The contributed papers present the very latest developments in each of these fields.
