I am the authors granddaughter, her name is written wrong. The correct name would be "WATTECK". The book describes the rise and fall of a corrupt member of the gouvernment during WW1 in Austria, specifically in Salzburg, who not only committed treason but also embezzled an enormous amount of money. His dealings and wheelings had a tremendous effect on the outcome of this war. Nora Watteck was a highly respected historian, who lived in Salzburg. She was born 1901 and died 1993.
