Antioxidants in Therapy and Preventive Medicine

Emphasizes fundamental processes in antioxidant action. Among the major topics are superoxide dismutase (SOD) and low molecular weight substances with such activity, called SOD mimics, as well as other antioxidant enzymes, antioxidant vitamins (in particular E and C), other naturally occurring antioxidants, and various synthetic antioxidants. Clinical trials and results obtained in animal models are considered, together with the use of antioxidant therapy in various diseases.
