About This Book

This book is about the Jamestown colony in Virginia from about 1609 until 1614. Ralph Hamor, or Hamer or Hammer, was a Captain in that colony and was instrumental in the marriage between John Rolfe and Pocahontas. He wrote about life in the new world, with descriptions of the relationships with the Native Americans, of the town which was built during the time he was there and the surrounding countryside.
