Doctoral thesis in international law, combined with astrophysics. Written in German. First part: Description of spaceflight activities to Mars until 1988, (then) future projects, science fiction on Mars. Second part: Basics of space law governing outer space beyond earth orbits, special legal topics relevant for space probes, manned spaceflight and possible colonization of planet Mars (legal regime, environmental protection, independence of colonies). Numerous reviews in US, British and Russian legal periodicals.
