A collection of lectures by Professor IU. D. Il'in read at the Moscow State Social University concerning the foundation of the EU, the sources of its laws, its basic institutions, the relationship between its laws and those of member states, and the legal foundation for EU external relations. Considerable attention is devoted to private law issues related to the movement of capital, commodities, services, and the workforce within the EU.
