About This Book

"The main focus of this work is the oxygen and strontium isotope analysis of cattle teeth from three LBK settlements and human teeth from a cemetery. These samples provide information about seasonality and location. The combination of the two different isotope systems from the enamel of the same tooth allows for a differentiation between seasonal mobility and a more sedentary pattern of animal husbandry, and a determination of the time of year and pasture locations used. This study concentrates on southwest Germany and examines systematically these multiple perspectives and evaluates them in conjunction with current hypotheses about the spatial organization of LBK animal husbandry."--Publisher's website.
