At Manhattan theatres, week of March 13, 1950, Playhouse Theatre, Peter Cookson presents "The Innocents," a new play by William Archibald, based on Henry James' "The Turn of the Screw," music composed by Alex North, with Beatrice Straight, Iris Mann, David Cole, Andrew Duggan, Ella Playwin, and Isobel Elsom, directed by Peter Glenville, setting and lighting by Jo Mielziner, costumes by Motley, original ballads by William Archibald and Alex North.
