Konwergencja zasobów architektury lokalnej dla współczesnych potrzeb na terenie Małopolski

A research project on the state of preservation of local architecture and the potential for its further use in Lesser Poland. The analysis looks at national heritage resources in the field of local architecture, i.e. one that has local cultural or / and artistic features, but is not of particular interest to state (municipal) or private patronage due to inferior architectural or artistic values, as well as technical and functional problems. Resources of little value from the point of view of free market economy have become a problem for efforts at modernization, yet they may nevertheless be valuable for local reasons. A large number of traditional wooden architectural monuments lack financial support from the state, especially buildings from the regions of Lesser Poland and Podkarpackie. Their legal situation as well as their technical condition and difficulties related to adaptation to modern utility purposes became the main reasons for the lack of interest inthem by local governments and private persons. The concept of convergence grounds a constant search for methods and ways to incorporate these resources in cultural processes regarding the preservation of local identities threatened by global changes.
