About This Book
This is more than a book with exciting texts that explore and formulate thoughts about the design industry. It is more than an exhibition catalog! It is an anthology about design as a workplace and about design that affects people's lives. Here we have collected texts on the theme of power and autonomy in the design field. We have, for example, Hadil Mohamed's chronicle of living with the whiteness norm and finding a strategy in her work as an illustrator, Margot Barolo's article about the designer as the useful idiot, Sandra Stiskalo's investigation of working conditions and opportunities to earn a living as a designer and much more. It is not a narrow area, but concerns everyone, as there are many more than designers working under vulnerable working conditions. And because everyone is affected by how our living environment is shaped. Here are also portraits of the various design practitioners we have the honor to include in our exhibition on power and autonomy in the field of design.
