Abstract: Investigators from around the world interpret data on the hormonal and biochemical changes that occur following malnutrition in infancy and childhood. Papers and discussion center on factors such as growth hormone, catecholamines, the thyroid, carbohydrate metabolism, and adrenal cortex, and electrolytes in relation to malnutrition; psychosocial deprivation; and catch-up growth after malnutrition.
