Emma and the Earl

Emma is the only daughter of a wealthy merchant. She's hoping to find a husband and to be accepted in aristocratic society. She finds herself a patroness to introduce her into society and was quite content until she met the earl.
The earl was looking to marry a wealthy girl and quick. If he marries Emma his problems are solved even if Emma is ugly she comes with a sizeable dowry ... or does she?
