About This Book
The god in the book's title refers to Hermes, the ancient Greek god of poetry, and poetry is one of the many subjects of this huge assortment of poems written over a 15-year period by the poet best known for his later poem, "Osama bin Laden," which is only available on a Website of the Library of Congress and elsewhere on the Web. These poems deal with many subjects, including many views of nature, of society, of personal growth, including getting old, and love. They combine traditional craftsmanship with the looser forms developed in the late 20th century. The author used this pseudonym while employed at the Library of Congress. He has since gone back to his given name, Glenn Logan Reitze, and has published other works under that name.
