About This Book

<div>32-page glossy paper booklet held together with two staples in the left fold. The inside pages are black and white, but there is blue ink for highlight on both covers. The front cover has the name of sponsoring, local radio station: KAST 1370 AM &amp; FM 93 at the top. At the bottom of the front cover is an outlined drawing of the shape of the state of Oregon. The back cover has an advertisement for Dairy Queen restaurant at the top, with an accompanying map of the Northwest Oregon coastline showing all the Dairy Queen locations. </div><div><br /></div><div>*This booklet was found in the Archive Subject Files without an accession number. It was donated by Liisa Penner, CCHS Archivist</div><div><br /></div><div>*Brief history of KAST radio from Wikipedia: </div><div>"The station is owned by OMG FCC Licenses, LLC.[3] The programming of the station is news–talk, with local programming during drive time hours and at noon, and syndicated programs the remainder of the day. KAST was originally on 1370 kHz then moved to 1200 kHz in 1939. In 1941 it moved to 1230 kHz as a result of the NARBA agreement. It moved back to 1370 kHz in 1950. Robert D. Holmes served as a station manager at KAST in the 1930s, prior to serving as Governor of Oregon."</div>
