Interviewing Darien was the opportunity to hear a story from Panama City. It was the opportunity to learn more about the Canal Zone, the training of Panamanian architects, how city is built in Panama, how history is present in its buildings, and of course, the shopping centers in the city with the largest mall in the Western Hemisphere. Darién toured particularities of Panamanian identity, race, style, global infrastructure, construction technology, soils, geopolitics and economic sanctions, architectural heritage, curriculum design, shopping centers, real estate, urban design, environment, malaria, and generational differences between Panamanian architects.
