On February 22, in Svalbard Norway, six-year-old Ella disappears from the Coal Ungen nursery in Longyearbyen. It is winter and minus twenty degrees. Her tracks lead down into the depths of the abandoned coal mines. Children disappear in Longyearbyen. They are not gone long and no one takes it seriously when the children refuse to say where they have been. But Ella does not come back.
