Elvira, a woman of the generation whose youth was taken by Europe between the wars and Franco's Spain, is remembered by her niece during a summer of remembrances in 2014 in which a reinterpretation by the part of the narrator of George Eliot's Middlemarch triggers an emotional and philosophical evocation of provincial life.
