Sonotopía

Sonotopia is that place that exists in one's own imagination; it is part of the world of utopias, and represents, in the acoustic world, an ideal sound. It is defined as an ideal sound space, and like any utopia, its function is to criticize the current state of the world, in this case, the urban sound world. This text is an ideal reading for those who want to investigate the relationships between urban space and sound space. These relationships are developed in the book from a critical perspective that relies on history, aesthetics and urban morphology -taking auditory perception as the axis- to achieve that ideal in the production of sound space, or "Soundtopía".
