When Anna Blakeney is offered the temporary job of looking after the Chatham children, Sara and Jeremy, her guilty feelings about the deaths of their parents in the car which Anna's father was driving make it impossible for her to refuse. She instantly dislikes the children's half-brother and guardian, Drewe, but while he is away she reckons she can sort out her problems with her boyfriend Ricky.
