About This Book

Dr. Edgar Schoen, a well-known Jewish physician, has been promoting and performing circumcisions as a positive health measure for the past 40+ years. In all of his writings, he speaks only of the benefits derived from the procedure, and ignores the potentially serious risks and complications which can result from this surgery. In this work, Dr. Schoen provides no information for parents considering circumcision for their son regarding the anatomical function of the foreskin nor the physical and psychological consequences of circumcision. Dr. Schoen seems to be advocating circumcision as a universal practice so that the Jewish religious tradition will not be endangered should the potential negative consequences of circumcision become well known.

If the reader is looking for objective information about the pros and cons of circumcision, look elsewhere. Dr. Schoen presents only his "pro" point of view.
