"'Boston es Peor' and the title story are this collection's true short stories. The first one is a dream-like sequence in which the main character describes how she faces the threats of some purported assassins. Unfortunately, the story never comes together. Among the shorter pieces, 'Hijo Pródigo' is a convincing recreation of the impact of the revolutionary 1980s on two young lovers.
