Gives detailed, fully scientific coverage of all the major groups of drugs used, or mis-used, for performance enhancement. Drugs are described in terms of their pharmological action, the therapeutic uses for which they are normally prescribed and the adverse toxic effects associated with them. The effects these drugs have on performance is assessed, whether or not the drugs are classed as doping agents.
