The smoke problem of great cities

Much of the work which is represented by the pages of this volume has been done with a view to successive reports of a Committee for the Investigation of Atmospheric Pollution, appointed in 1912 in order to give effect to the wishes of a conference held in London in connection with a smoke-abatement exhibit in that year.
