About This Book

The book is a biography of a family from the village of Srednje Jarše, Slovenia, focusing on the lives of the eight brothers Pirnat, who formed an a cappella octet and sang semi-professionally for more than 50 years. The family included 11 children; the father was a blacksmith and carriage-maker. The biography also covers the family's years in resettlement during the Second World War in Burghausen, Germany, as well as the arrest of two of the brothers for joining the Partisans and their imprisonment in Dachau.
