Carhua

An extraordinary journey through the history, the present and the celebration of the Blessed Cross of Saint Cristopher, through photographic images of moving beauty of the town center of Carhua, a place close to Lima although little known by Peruvians. Carhua is an Andean community located north of Lima, known as "The Balcony of Heaven" for its captivating nature, unique architecture, beautiful social and cultural traditions, and a fervent popular religiosity. The more than one hundred large-format photographs taken by the author are preceded by a rigorous study on the Santísima Cruz de San Cristóbal by the scholar Javier Badillo Bramón.
