A Whisper of Life (Harvey Family)

Life in the small Cornish village of Hennaford is still difficult in 1948. Several new characters have entered the scene, among them 16-year-old Kate, who limps owing to a childhood bout with polio that left one leg longer than the other and who has just been cruelly cast off by her unloving family because they want her room, miserable as it is. Jonny Harvey, Tristan's son and an RAF officer maimed in the war, has returned home to consider his options.
