About This Book
Inspired by colors mentioned in the Bible, Kabbalists have developed an abundance of esoteric literature around the mystique of Light and its colorations. This concerns, of course, the particular concept of the ten Sefiroth. We discover that the colors of sefiroth are not fixed, but alive and in perpetual motion. This book deals more with the theme of the spirituality of colors than with symbolism. The colors studied are dependent on the ancient knowledge of the dyes and the secret of their pigments. Based on quotations of texts authoritative by the Kabbalists, the author offers us a pilgrimage to the heart of the spirit of colors. We discover the reason why the blue hues, Purple and scarlet are always associated in the Temple of Solomon and his priestly utensils. The author offers two original translations of texts from the thirteenth and sixteenth centuries. The first attributed to Joseph Gikatilla and the second is the integral translation of chapter XII, devoted to the colors, in the Pardès Rimonim of Moses Cordovero. This book provides a key to reading the ancient texts of Kabbalah and biblical texts using allegories and color symbols.
