Cementerio San Camilo de Pereira

Inventory with data on the conservation state, owners and overall architectural characteristics of the headstones, mausoleums and monuments of the Cemetery of San Camilo in Pereira (Risaralda, Colombia). "This book is the outcome of the research carried out by the author between 2011 and 2015, within the framework of the studies of the Master's Degree in History of the Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, whose main objective was to demonstrate when the San Camilo de Pereira cemetery become a visual and material representation of design, arts and architecture, spanning from the early years of the 20th century, the 1930's until the decade of the 80's. The documentary corpus is made up of a bibliographic inventory on cemeteries and related subjects, made to 3 national scientific journals, one of them published since 1963; a wide and detailed photographic archive, elaborated along with an inventory of technical files and its respective analysis of categories; a meticulous study of notarial documentation and local bibliography, complemented the architectural plan of the place. The research is aimed at assuming commitments and conservation and restoration policies on the funerary art found in the place, as an authentic contribution to the historical and cultural memory of the city of Pereira."
